People who pretend they only like super heroes so they can be in on a big movie trend..I made this for you

hey, op. you’re not a better fan because you’ve read the comics. some of us don’t have access to comics and some of us just wanna watch the movies. and there’s nothing wrong with that. kindly step down off that high horse of yours because you are not that special.

Oh, see, it’s people like the OP who are the reason I’m afraid to walk into a comic book store. Because instead of viewing the movies as a gateway to share their fandom with other people (“oh, you liked the movies? cool, let me show you this awesome comic with some different characters I think you’ll like them, too”), they shut people out.
I read Marvel comics because of the movies.

Same here.  I get too overwhelmed by the back-catalogue of comics and never know where to start, and feel like a complete noob when I go to comic shops if I ask…  The movies are my best bet for getting a general idea of the storyline and the characters.

people like the OP are the reason why it’s so fucking HARD to get new readers to Marvel.
I’ve been a Marvel fan for 10+ years, and when a new person approach the fandom because of a single character they saw somewhere, or because they liked the Iron Man or Thor or Hulk or Cap movie, I’m HAPPY about it and I wish to do everything I can to be useful to them and make them discover how freaking amazing the comics are too.
To treat the new fans as second rate fans is just bullshit and being complete jerks.
