ladynorthstar replied to your post: 1) I wish you would tag your Dragon Age reblogs. :( I’ve got it Tumblr Savior’d but yours keep slipping through. I love you too much to unfollow you though. 2) I want to give you concrit sometimes but I’m afraid I’ll be torn apart by your followers. 3) I wish we could talk more but we seem to be in totally different fandoms. 4) I wouldn’t unfollow you for the world.
I so feel you about criticism… I know it’s done with a good intent, but when you feel already there is hardly anything good in what you do, having people confirm your fears just make you depressed and doesn’t help AT ALL.Yeah. It’s funny, because I like what I draw. I enjoy it even. But I sit there and tear it apart at the same time. And go “Christ this is shit”. Hah. There’s been points where I’ve been more okay with criticism, but the last half a year… Just not so much. It just sorta makes me feel even worse than I already do. ♥

I firmly believe criticism should never be given unless it’s asked for.
one thing is enthusiastic newebies that believe their art is the best of the world when they don’t know a shit about anatomy or perspective or anything yet - we’ve all been there - but when you’re dealing with people that’ve been drawing for many year well… an artist will always be his own harshest critic. so it’s not really use to add misery to the misery - especially when the artist has clear self-confidence issues as most of us non-professional or barely-professional artists have - when the artist didn’t state they are interested in taking criticism.
if you didn’t pay for my art, then NO, thank you but I don’t want to hear your sincere opinion on everything I’ve done wrong in this piece, I’m able to see it without your aid: the only thing you’re going to obtain is making me spend the night crying or giving me another fucking art block.
