Same anon! Regarding your answer, you just confirmed what I've previously told you. I agree with the first part. The one where you said that you draw pairings which you personally like and are not popular in the fandom, but after that you made like one step back and started talking about the "hundreds of notes" other artists get on the same unpopular pairings you draw. So in the end, you do care about the notes, about the attention and popularity and this is what truly motivates you to draw.

I won’t ever change the kind of things I draw just to hunt for notes, that would be an artistic suicide and would bore me to death, but I want to make a living out of my art, so knowing people LIKE what I make reassures me I can go somewhere, that I’m not wasting my time.
